Vivo en una ciudad en la que hay bastante mendicidad.
Por el camino que une mi casa con el trabajo, paso por una zona donde se situan muchos de estos mendigos. Siempre en la misma esquina, o el mismo portón. Como si huebieran hecho su reserva de espacio. Por lo general no son personas conflictivas. Alguno hay que lo que tiene es demasiada cara dura. Siempre he tenido la tentación de sentarme junto alguno y preguntarle el por que de esa situación. Nunca me he atrevido, por temor a una reacción inesperada, o quiza, por que si que espero una determinada reacción. Aunque supongo, que a cualquiera al que un desconocido le entre preguntando ese tipo de cosas, se sienta, como minimo, incomodo.
El caso es, que tengo la sensación que es un modo de vida al que algunos se ven volcados por las cosas de la vida, casi sin quererlo, y que sin embargo otros eligen libremente.
Pero hace unas semanas entro en escena un nuevo personaje. Es una señora mayor, no sabria decir cuanto. Si bien es evidente que se trata de una vagabunda, nunca la he visto mendigar. Vestida con harapos y tirando de una carro de la compra. Es agresiva. Se coloca en medio de la calle con un bastón con el cual intenta alcanzar a cualquiera que pasa cerca, e insulta con calificativos sorprendentes al primero que se le antoja. Lo curioso es que es marginada y despreciada por los propios marginados, supongo que por esa actitud suya tan poco sociable. Además tiene una peculiar constumbre; se tira al suelo, grita y dice que se muere, es realmente angustioso ver una persona en esas circunstancias, por lo que siempre hay alguien que avisa a la ambulancia y a los servicios de emergencia. Mientras tanto sigue con su numerito, se tira el carro encima, llora y patalea. Así hasta que llegan a socorrerla, momento en el cual se levanta y se pone en guardia con su baston para que nadie se le acerque, sigue maldiciendo, y se muere de la risa, porque de nuevo a representado su función y nos lo hemos tragado. Es una gran actriz.
Sin embargo, esta señora está, a todas luces, desequilibrada. Está enferma.
Por que una cosa es verse en la calle por que no tienes un puto duro ( y no voy a cuestionar el por qué, ese seria otro tema) y otra muy distinta es que lo estes, porque una efermedad te ha llevado a perder la razón, y por tanto a no poder decidir con juicio sobre tus actos.
Y mis preguntas son : ¿ de cuantas personas, es este el motivo real de que se encuentren en esta situación? ¿ no tenemos todos el derecho a la sanidad? ¿ sobre quien recae la responsabilidad de evitar esto?
