Viaje interruptus
Ayer, Viernes, 27 de Junio, mi padre inauguró por fin su restaurante. “Goyerías” en Mojacar, Almería. Es un restaurante que pretende fusionar la cocina tradicional de la zona, basada en guisos de origen musulmán –ollas de trigo, mucho cordero, gurullos- con la nueva cocina de corte más europeísta y moderno. Todo ello regado con una magnifica selección de vinos, indispensables en cualquier buen restaurante.
Es una apuesta arriesgada el intentar colocar un restaurante de la categoría que él pretende ofrecer en una zona de playa, pero confía en la calidad de los productos y del personal para llevar a buen puerto esta aventura.
Como íbamos diciendo, este Viernes pasado era la inauguración, Así que me acoplé vilmente al coche de mi jefa –que también quería bajar allí- para poder aprovechar la mañana en el despacho, pues era el último día para presentar rentas, y como siempre, había unos cuantos rezagados que hasta el último día no te traen los papeles, y encima pretenden que les soluciones todos los problemas.
El coche era un Hyundai Accent del ’98. Y la verdad que para ser un coreano de cinco años, no andaba nada mal. Observe el atento lector que uso el tiempo pasado al referirme al automóvil. No se trata de un error.
Salimos después de comer, con el tiempo suficiente para poder llegar allí sin necesidad de correr. Sin embargo, el primer inconveniente que encontramos fue un atasco monumental en el nudo de la N-III –carretera de Valencia- en el cual nos pasamos casi una hora.
El primer síntoma de que algo no marchaba bien con el sistema eléctrico del coche nos lo dio Massive Attack, cuando, de repente dejó de sonar en el CD. Después fueron muriéndose todos y cada uno de los diferentes sistemas eléctricos –intermitentes, limpias- hasta que finalmente no hubo chispa ni para hacer funcionar las bujías.
Nos quedamos tirados –afortunadamente, porque hacía un sol de justicia- bajo un puente, sentados al lado del coche y tirándole piedrecillas a una lagartija que asomaba burlona su cabeza detrás de un pilar.
Dos coches de la Guardia Civil, doscientos diecisiete camiones y treinta motos más tarde, llegó la grúa del RACE, que nos remolcó hasta Sisante, donde nos cambiaron la batería y nos dijeron que podíamos seguir el viaje.
“Raro”-dije yo -“Si fuese la batería, el alternador nos habría mantenido en marcha hasta que el coche hubiese parado. ¿Está usted seguro?” - “Claro Chaval, soy un profesional”.
Bueno, tengo que reconocer que el mecánico si que era un profesional. Un profesional en meterle horas al RACE, porque dijo que nos había recogido a las cinco y media cuando lo había hecho a las ocho.
En cualquier caso, dado que eran las nueve y pico, decidimos que no merecía seguir viaje hasta Mojacar, pues faltaban casi 400 kilómetros, y no íbamos a llegar ni a las últimas botellas de cava de la inauguración.
Hicimos bien, porque con la batería nueva, apenas nos dio para hacer 150 kilómetros. De nuevo nos quedamos tirados. Esta vez en Villarejo de Salvanés, donde hacen las galletas Cuetara. Pero salvo que el pueblo huele que te cagas a masa recién horneada, no se puede decir demasiado del pueblecito. Y nada demasiado bueno.
Esta vez la grúa tardó mucho más que la otra, pero por lo menos nos pusieron un taxi hasta Madrid. Y una vez allí tardamos un suspiro en llegar hasta casa.
Según me contó mi padre por teléfono, la inauguración fue un éxito, y se llenó de periodistas y políticos locales. Pensándolo bien, casi fue mejor que no pudiese llegar. No me hubiese gustado tener que compartir mesa con seres vendidos y repugnantes. ¡Espera! Ahora soy abogado... Como decía un amigo mío, por lo menos no tuvimos un accidente.
Menudo día de locos.
Para que veas que leo tu blog, eso si esporadicamente. Lo que no me contaste el otro dia era que bajabas a Mojacar o yo no me entere, claro que el resto de la historia ya la conocia.
Respecto a lo de compartir mesa con cierta clase de personas, tu lo has dicho eres abogado, y como seguro estaras comprobando con muchos/algunos de tus clientes, existen seres "humanos" que carecen de todo principio e integridad, solo espero que tras el rito del pasado viernes y el contacto con estos seres no te transformes en uno de ellos.
Podría ser peor.
