Aclimatándose
Sigo quemado –por el sol- y metido debajo de una palmera, tomando refrescos y algún que otro cóctel, que me prepara mi primito Marcos. Las cosas aquí, para que engañarnos, están mucho mejor de lo que yo creía. Esperaba encontrarme una situación de pánico, al estilo El Hotel de Los líos de los hermanos Marx, pero la verdad es que salvo algún que otro roce ocasional entre la gente de la cocina, el Restaurante de mi padre y el hotelito, están funcionando dentro de las previsiones de éste, su primer año.
Quizá me estoy adelantando un poco a los aconteciemientos, así que será mejor hacer una pequeña recapitulación para quienes no saben de que va la historia.
Mi padre, abogado, cincuentón y recientemente separado –de mi madre-, decidió semi-retirarse de la abogacía y dedicarse a uno de sus sueños postpuesto. Montar un restaurante en Mojacar, Almería. Quería montar un restaurante, con un gran nivel de cocina, completamente alejado de los tópicos de sol y playa y centrarse un poco en la nouvelle cousine, pero respetando las tradiciones gastronómicas de la zona. Él siempre ha dicho que no soportaba los restaurantes en los que te servían una ramita de apio, aliñada con un poco de aceite y lo llamaban con nombres rimbombantes que ocupaban dos líneas del menú; así que con uno de sus mejores amigos, ha montado por fin su restaurante, al cual ha acompañado, gracias a la casa donde está situado, de un hotel con cinco habitaciones.
Comer en este restaurante no es barato; pero tampoco es caro –por lo menos teniendo en cuenta que el otro día me soplaron 6 euros por un tercio en un chiringuito de la playa, ¡por Dios!- Supongo que los precios se irán ajustando según pase el tiempo. Las fotos del hotel, las tendréis en cuanto mi hermana traiga la cámara digital.
Pero me desvío. El caso es que me he instalado en la casa de mi padre, y éste me ha dado casi completa libertad para pasarme un verano a mi gusto; cosa que casi no he podido hacer en los últimos diez años, por culpa de las diferentes asignaturas que me quedaban para septiembre año tras año. Él está en el restaurante haciendo una jornada intensiva y casi no pasa por casa, así que yo puedo disfrutar de la conexión ADSL y de su bien surtida –de licores- nevera. Lo cual, unido a que mi primo es barman de profesión, pues como que para mi hígado es malo. O en todo caso no es excesivamente bueno.
Y sin embargo, apenas he llegado a este rincón de la costa andaluza , ya empiezo a echar de menos Madrid; y sobre todo las tardes muertas paseando por esas calles atestadas de turistas y acabar comprando algo para beber en el Corte Ingles de Sol a la hora del cierre para seguir dándonos paseos por los jardines de Sabatini, que ahora mismo están cerrados por las noches de Zarzuela. Tomar algo en alguna cafetería. reirnos de las hordas de freaks que el calor saca a la calle como las cucarachas, mientras -como siempre- hacemos planes para escaparnos de esa jaula de locos que es la ciudad.
Ya queda menos para volver a Madrid.
¿6 euros por un tercio?
