Mañana a las 7 am sale mi vuelo para Iowa City. Pasaré 10 dias en la escuela de kung fu entrenando. En este viaje me acompañarán dos de mis Sidai, mi hermano Alvaro y Alberto.
Tengo muchas ganas de llegar :D tiene una pinta estupenda. Basicamente consistirá en 10 dias de Kung fu, pizza, cervezas, ver a mis colegas americanos y comprar ropa friki :D
Alvaro se queda a vivir con Bart, Alberto con Daniel y yo con Beth (una amiga que no hace kung fu)
Estaria guapo que en este viaje volviera habiendo aprendido el "mook yan jong" o wooden dummy. Es un muñeco de madera que seguro habreis visto en las pelis de jackie chan con tres brazos y una pierna. Este muñeco es un elemento de entrenamiento de ving tsun muy avanzado. Estar en el jong es un grado y a los que no han llegado a el no se les permite ni tocarlo, como muestra de respeto a los que han llegado a el.
El sistema de ving tsun tiene 6 forms o series de movimientos que se aprenden en orden:
Cuando llegué el primer día a la escuela de kung fu, aún no sabía lo que era el ving tsun, pero había visto pelis de Jackie Chan y Bruce Lee en las que aparecían haciendo cosas chulas con este muñeco de madera. En cuanto ví que en esta escuela se aprendía el wooden dummy me encantó y no pude evitar decidir que entrenaría hasta poder aprender a manejar ese artilugio cuyo aspecto y misterio tanto me atraía.
