I always dreamed I'd love you
I never dreamed I'd lose you
In my dreams, I'm always strong
- The Dark is Rising
Do you remember that sentence from Fight Club? When he says that when you have insonmia you are never awake or sleep at all?
Well, that moment, which we may call... mmmh... lets see... "being in limbo", its a fucking great moment to listen to music. Or lets just say that its a great moment to listen to certain type of music.
My first experience with that "in limbo listening" was with the song Lies, from the first album of Korn. (Insert goear here). Its a song that if you dont pay any attention to it you dont now if you are listening to a riff or if its a guy with an electric drill on your brain.
Ok, yesterday night I went from Málaga to Madrid by bus. I left Málaga at ten thirty at night and I arrived to Madrid at... who knows... it was around six.
Of course I havent been able to have a proper moment of sleeping, and of course I havent been properly awake in the whole night, so, you can imagine what comes now.
Now comes a wanking about the album that I've had on repeat the whole night, and blablabla about how cool and how special that listening was.
It was All is dream by Mercury Rev. You may know this band from posts like "this song reminds of Shopenhauer" or "best band names ever".
Allmusic says: Moody, majestic, and unpredictable (...) symphonic pop into paranoid and exuberant extremes (...) spooked, singsong vocals against appropriately unearthly theremins, glockenspiels, and organs (...)
So, imagine all that stuff during eight hours of "in limbo mood", it a shitty bus, sweating, tired as hell and, most important of all, with reminiscences of the awesome weekend that you've just had, being in love, being with your girl and blablabla.
Awesome guys. You should try that at home.
